I’ve been honored to introduce yoga to beginners and teach in across diverse community and academic settings. I enjoy adapting to the energy and needs of students, and to guiding others into the pulse of vinyasa flow while encouraging the mindful cultivation of Ujjayi, oceanic breath. Music is a third teacher, and depending on the type of setting, I offer rituals of bells, eye pillows, and oils of aromatherapy. Private, or online classes are available.

Yoga shined a light through my dull perception in 2001 during my first class with Deb Lister at Living Yoga Studios in Champaign, IL. It has taken me on a winding journey through professional teacher trainings and trauma-informed certificates at Kripalu Center for Yoga in the Berkshires Mountains. Originating from the lineage of Swami Kripalvananda, “the compassionate one”, Kripalu teachings are rooted in the classical 8 limb path with a focus upon non-judgment, inquiry, self-responsibility and service. As an embodied and philosophical practice, yoga invites the intimate union with our divine Life Force, the breath. When I am attuned, safe, and grounded in the presence it brings, the ease of divine creativity and resilience in life flows. May you also Honor this Light Within. Namaste
